DeleteThanks for your kind comment. Yes - ubiquity is the word! thanks for pointing to it. I'm working on a small batch of what I have been calling "object" poems...
May end up revisiting this one - not so sure the chess master portion is quite right, and the ending cadence may be too long. Though I wanted to front-load 9 very quick snapshots, and end with the teetering/balanced (acrobatic-almost) throne image (which would, fittingly, bounce around for a bit), not sure it is finished baking. May cut last 3 lines. If you have occasion, would be grateful for your thoughts on this.
