The Ocean

The ocean is
a restless queen
a troubled queen
in silver gown
slow pacing in

her frazzled gown
both in and out
and up and down
the pardon done
then blotted out.

  1. I'm very curious about this: "the pardon done....then blotted out"
Do you mean this to be read in columns, the left, then the right, or straight across? or both? I read it as two separate columns.

    1. Hey Amber,
Thanks for your note. The primary read is column 1 then column 2. There is a gentle suggestion to read across.
The overarching idea is the ocean as a queen, weighing a decision: granting mercy (pardon) or not (blotted out). Perhaps, pardon::no storm::pleasant day at the beach vs. pardon blotted out::great storm::devastation.
There is also the delicate allusion to, perhaps, the queen herself is awaiting a decision - that will pardon or condemn her.
      Peace,
      B.R.
