I'm very curious about this: "the pardon done....then blotted out"

DeleteThanks for your note. The primary read is column 1 then column 2. There is a gentle suggestion to read across.
The overarching idea is the ocean as a queen, weighing a decision: granting mercy (pardon) or not (blotted out). Perhaps, pardon::no storm::pleasant day at the beach vs. pardon blotted out::great storm::devastation.
There is also the delicate allusion to, perhaps, the queen herself is awaiting a decision - that will pardon or condemn her.
